A. Elastin is a protein based fiber chain in the middle layer of the skin. It helps the skin to return to its original form after been stretched. For example, if you gently touch your skin, it curves inwards but as soon as you release your finger, the skin bounces back to it’s original position. Although, like Elastin, Collagen is also a protein based fiber chain that found in the middle layer of the skin; it helps with the firmness and keeping the hydration in skin cells. Elastin are found in the upper dermis but only in a small portion, on the other hand collagen is found in the lower dermis in a large quantity.
